Gem Finder Aug 2026 - Semiconductor Packaging
The constraint on AI hardware is no longer the chip, it is getting it packaged
This month’s gem is a company most people outside the semiconductor industry have never heard of, and yet a great deal of the world’s silicon, and a fast-growing share of what the AI build-out depends on, passes through its factories to be assembled and tested. It is the largest business in the world at what it does. Last quarter its revenue grew 27% and its net income grew 180%, its earnings per share nearly tripled, and its core division grew 36% year on year with margins that keep climbing to fresh records. Every analyst tracked in the consensus rates it a buy and the stock has returned more than 300% over the past twelve months.
On its most recent earnings call, management said something that ought to reframe how you think about the whole AI trade. Demand, they said, is not the concern. It is the bottleneck in packaging.
So the question is whether a stock already up 300% is simply too late, or whether the market is still underpricing a company that has quietly become one of the choke points of the entire AI hardware boom.
